Philosophy:
To provide a safe and developmentally appropriate environment for all
children, taking into consideration both their physical and emotional welfare
in a loving, adult-supervised environment. Special features include: Holy Spirit Child Care,
which is under the direct operation of Holy Spirit Catholic School, serves the
children of our school and their siblings, ages 3 years to 12 years.
We know how important it is
to communicate with you about your most important person so each child in our
program will have their own file in which we will put a Daily Report.
This report will tell you what kind of a day your child has had.
For example, we will let you know in writing how long your child slept
during nap time, what they ate for lunch, and whether they were happy or upset
during the day. We also have a
Monthly Newsletter informing parents of upcoming events in our classrooms.
We like to keep the lines of communication open. Our developmentally
appropriate children’s activities and learning centers will be used to further
the children’s physical and mental growth.
We will be working on two themes or units a month with the children.
The learning centers will change to incorporate these themes.
Catholic teachings and social skills are taught as an on-going service to
help these children develop as productive members of our community.
Each child will be treated with and should display a spirit of fair play
and justice at all times. All
children at Holy Spirit are expected to conduct themselves in a positive manner:
treating others as he/she would like to be treated, respecting
themselves, classmates, supervisors, equipment and all other people.
Our program of supervised
care is available Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm.
Holy Spirit offers on-site child care for school age children needing
care before school begins from 7:30am to 8:15am and after school from 2:45pm to
6:00pm. All of the children are
escorted to and from their classrooms and the child care so that every child is
accounted for. For the After School
Program, children will be served an afternoon snack, have the opportunity to
play, and then will be brought inside to start homework or participate in one of
the fun activities planned. We also
have a Sensational Summer Program packed with activities like swimming, bowling,
roller skating, ice blocking, gymnastics, movies, picnics and more!
Children will be taken by bus to these activities. |
