Please continue to keep Mrs. Corgiat and her family in your prayers.  As you know, her father has been sick for the past couple of weeks and sadly he passed away last Monday.

If you wish to offer condolences, cards can be sent to the school or dropped off in the office.  If you wish to make a monetary donation a fund has been made here on his behalf which Mrs. Corgiat will be able to use as she wishes.  And of course as you know, Mrs. Corgiat is a strong believer in prayer, so prayers said for her and her father are truly  appreciated gifts.

SHE’S BACK!!! YAHOO!!!

We are happy to announce that Miss Shauntel was able to come back to work this week!  She is still weak and in the recovery stage but is slowly getting better.  Please continue to pray for her.

M.A.P. TESTING

The students in grades 2-6 will continue with the M.A.P. Testing next week.  So far the testing has gone pretty smoothly and the test scores are outstanding!

Keep up the good work at home too by making sure that your child gets a good night’s rest, a nutritious breakfast and of course lots of loving encouragement to do their very best!!!

STILL NEED SERVICE HOURS?

We still need help with the Book Fair that will be held April 28-May 2.  We need help setting it up on Friday, April 25 after school, before and after school April 28 – May 2, and then take down on May 2 after school.  Sign up sheets are in the school hallway.

Also, we need a couple of parents to help put paint in painting trays.  This is not a hard task, just time consuming.  If you would like to help with either of these things, please contact Miss Polly at 232-5763.

SPRING PORTRAITS

Hopefully everyone has received their child’s Spring portrait that was taken by Lifetouch.  These pictures HAVE NOT been paid for.  You have the choice of buying the whole package, single sheets, or returning the package to your child’s teacher.  Please return either payment or the pictures back to your child’s teacher by Friday, April 25.  Thank you.

2nd Annual Spell-a-thon

Money collected for the 2nd Annual

Spell-a-thon needs to be turned in by tomorrow, April 18.  More information regarding the success of the Spell-a-thon will be forthcoming.

SPRING SHOW

Our Spring Sing and Art Show are scheduled for Wednesday, April 30.  The Art Show will begin at 6:00 in the school and the Spring Sing will follow at 7:00 in the church.  See you there!

CHANGE IN TEACHING STAFF

Next school year 2008-2009, we will be having two changes to our teaching staff.  Mrs. Betty is having a baby next August, so she will be taking some time off from teaching and Miss Angela is moving to Caldwell.  Both of these super fine teachers will be missed but we are so glad to have had them as long as we have!

We will be taking applications for both jobs until a suitable replacement is found.  If you know of a teacher who would be interested please have them contact the school.

TRASH TALK

Parents, please talk to your child about inappropriate language.  We are hearing quite a bit of “trash talk” out on the playground and it won’t be tolerated.  Yellow tickets will be issued for inappropriate language.  For those children taking the Lord’s name in vain, they will have a visit with Fr. Ben.  It absolutely will not be allowed.  Our children are so smart that we think they can choose to use better words.  Please take the time to visit with your child about it.

P.E.

The students will be playing soccer for the next two weeks during their P.E. time.  If your child has shin guards they are strongly encouraged to bring them and wear them.  Cleats are not allowed.

MISSING

Bakin’ Barb reports that the outside of her small roaster and several parts of her nacho machine were not returned after the basketball tournament.  If you helped with clean up, please make sure that they are still not sitting in a box somewhere.  Thank you!

LETTER OF INTENT

If you are planning on your child (ren) returning to Holy Spirit Catholic School for the 2008/09 school year and you have not returned your Letter of Intent, please do so now!  A Letter of Intent is the only way to guarantee that your child will have a spot for next year!  A non-refundable deposit of $100 per family is also required.              If you have any questions regarding these Letters or are unable to make your deposit at this time, please see Miss Polly in the school office.

May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand…how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it.  And so at last you will be filled up with God himself.

Ephesians 3:17-19 TLB
