TRAFFIC ON
Several parents and parish members have expressed
concern about the safety of our children as they cross the street from the
parking lot to school. There is a lot of
traffic along 7th during the drop off and pick up times. A large number of people traveling along 7th
during the drop off and pick up times. A
large number of people traveling along 7th ignore the speed limit
during these and other times. We have
decided to start a petition to have this concern addressed with the City
Council. We will be asking for a four
way stop on Wyeth and 7th and a large school crossing sign painted
on the street in front of the school.
Please sign the petition on the PTC bulletin board if you are concerned. If you would like to help with this endeavor
please contact Kim Saccomando at 904-4161 or Beth Huston at 238-8385.
REGISTRATION FORMS
If you have not returned your registration forms
for this year, please do so. We need
them for the safety of your children, reports, the school directory etc. If your child is new to the school, we also
need a copy of their Birth Certificate and current immunizations.
WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Every week the school will send home a weekly newsletter
on Thursday’s in this folder. This
newsletter is sent home with the oldest child, unless requested otherwise. PLEASE
make sure that you return the emptied folder to your child’s teacher so
that it can be used throughout the year.
Using the folder eases the work and time it takes to get these folders
ready to go home, so pretty please return them. These
folders can also be used to send notes to your child’s teacher, book orders,
hot lunch payments etc. Thank you for
your help!!
SAFE
ENVIRONMENT TRAINING (S.E.T.)
Please make sure you read the attachment regarding
S.E.T. Anyone who plans on volunteering
for any school activities is mandated
by the Diocese of Boise to attend a class.
Please call the school office at 232-5763 if you have any

HOT LUNCH
For those new families and a refresher for those
returning families, here’s a little lesson on how the hot lunch program
works. Hot lunch with milk costs $2.00
per meal; milk only can be purchase for .25 cents. The school has a computerized program that
keeps track of lunches purchased and then used.
You will receive an I.O.U. with your weekly newsletter when your child
has run out of money. Lunch money can be
turned into your child’s teacher or to the school office.
Going home with today’s newsletter is an application for
free or reduced lunches. Please review
this information and return a completed application if you qualify. Many programs that are funded by the federal
government are based on these applications, so if you qualify, please take
advantage of it! All applications are kept confidential.
GET THOSE RAFFLE TICKETS!!!
There are many ways to purchase a raffle ticket. You can buy one by yourself or you can pool
your money with a friend or family member.
For example if you find three other people to invest, the cost to you is
only $30.00. If you win 1st
prize your winnings will be $100.00 per person.
If you win 2nd prize your winnings will be $50.00 per person
and if you win 3rd prize your winnings will be $37.50. Anyway you look at it; you are making a
profit on your initial investment if your name is drawn. Remember, every name drawn is reentered. You can win more than once!
The raffle is and enjoyable and easy way to earn up to $6,000.00 for our awesome school. Don’t
let the $120.00 price tag keep you from entering. Buddy up with a friend or two and share the
fun!
Jump Rope
for Heart
Our Jump Rope for Heart event on the last day of school
was a tremendous success. We raised more
than $1,700 dollars for the American Heart Association, learned about being
“heart healthy” and had a lot of fun in the process. We want to thank everyone for their support
and generosity.
The children rotated from one jumping station to another
utilizing the jumping skills that they learned during PE. You should see the kids’ double-dutch! A big thank you to the
volunteers who helped with the jumping stations. Prizes for participants
will be sent home tomorrow.
The school also
earned a $100.00 gift certificate towards physical education equipment. We look forward to doing this event again
this spring.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
Parents please make sure that your child is dressed
in their school uniform. This uniform
policy has been in place for several years now, and will be strictly
enforced. A copy of the policy is
included with today’s newsletter.
The girls’ plaid jumpers, skirts, skorts etc., must be
purchased through Hall Closet as they
are the only company who carries the correct plaid. Orders can be made online at hallcloset.com,
and the plaid number is 56. Also, if you
order through Lands’ End online
please make sure you use the school’s preferred number 9001-2234-2 so that the
school receives a percentage of the sale!
There are Lands’ End, Hall Closet and French Toast
catalogs available at the school.
