The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here; he has risen just as he said … Then go quickly and tell his disciples.”  Matthew 28:5-7

NAN-O-GRAM

Spring has finally sprung!

I want to extend to all of you a huge thank you for your overwhelming support of this year’s food collection for the ‘Feed the 5000’ campaign. We targeted 400 items as an attainable goal, but through your generosity, we will be delivering 734 items to St. Vincent de Paul! That averages an amazing 5 items per student. What more can I say…I love this school!

            A blessed Easter to everyone.

            Keep reading to your kids!

BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Don’t forget the Crusader Basketball Tournament next week, March 28-30.  The tournament will begin at 12:00 on the 28th at Reed Gym on the ISU Campus.  Admission is free, so stop on by and catch some games, and if you have some extra time on your hands help is always appreciated (and needed!!!).

APRIL’S HOT LUNCH MENU IS ON THE BACK OF THIS NEWSLETTER.

SPRING PICTURES

The students will be having their picture taken on April 2, 2008.  Please see the attachment for more information.

SHORTS OKAY!

In accordance to our Student Handbook, the students can begin wearing shorts to school on April 1.  Shorts must be black or khaki and fingertip length.  Just a reminder for the students that cold legs do not mean you get to stay inside!

FINANCIAL AID – SCHOLARSHIPS

If you will need financial assistance next year, please stop by the school office and pick up an application.  These applications must be completed and returned by the 30th of April.

LETTER OF INTENT

Remember to return your Letter of Intent for the 2008/09 school year.  EVERYONE who is planning on sending their child(ren) to Holy Spirit Catholic School next year MUST submit a Letter of Intent.  Also, if you will be sending new siblings to the school then make sure you add them as well.  If you have any questions regarding these Letters or are unable to make your deposit at this time, please see Miss Polly in the school office.

MARCH PAYOFF

On Friday, April 4th, we are going to introduce a new activity…kite flying! We will be taking the primary grades down the street to Tydeman Park and the older kids will go to Bartz Field. Kids are asked to create or bring their kites from home…a good project idea for Spring break!  PTC will make sure each child who wants a kite will have one for that day, or something to fly in the air. With windy weather almost a given, this should be a wild, fun afternoon!

INTERNATIONAL FOOD FAIR

The annual International Food Fair is scheduled for May 3rd and 4th this year.  Holy Spirit School has been asked to help with the dessert booth on that Saturday, either by baking or by helping serve at the booth. The hours on Saturday are 11-7, with times divided up in to three hour blocks: 11-2, 2-5 or 5-7.

This is a wonderful, family-oriented community event that our parish sponsors featuring outstanding food, terrific entertainment, and welcoming fellowship. Please consider helping, and if you have any questions, contact Mrs. Corgiat for details.
