LETTER OF INTENT

If you are planning on your child (ren) returning to Holy Spirit Catholic School for the 2008/09 school year and you have not returned your Letter of Intent, please do so now!  A Letter of Intent is the only way to guarantee that your child will have a spot for next year!  A non-refundable deposit of $100 per family is also required.  Beginning next week, we will begin to enroll new students, so make sure your child has a spot!

If you have any questions regarding these Letters or are unable to make your deposit at this time, please see Miss Polly in the school office.

2nd Annual Spell-a-thon - tomorrow

The 2nd Annual Spell-a-thon will be held tomorrow,  Friday, April 11th.  Your child should have brought home a Spell-a-thon packet last week.   Please make sure that the pledge sheets are sent in with your child tomorrow.  The students will be taking the “Spelling Test” around 9:00 a.m. tomorrow so that you will know how much needs to be collected by the end of school that day.                                  At hall meeting on Monday we talked about each child sponsoring themselves, and maybe digging into their own piggy bank to help support THEIR school.  The Spell-a-thon is an easy, fun and educational fundraiser.  So get those pledges and study those spelling words!  It’s as simple as that!

M.A.P. TESTING

Next week the students in grades 2-6 will begin taking the M.A.P. Test for the Spring 2008 testing period.  The M.A.P. test is the Diocese’s version of the ISAT’s that is taken in the public schools.  It’s really the same stuff, just different name and provider.

Please make sure that your child is ready for these tests by making sure they get a good nights rest, a nutritious breakfast and lots of loving encouragement to do their very best!!!

SHORTS OKAY!

In accordance to our Student Handbook, the students can begin wearing shorts to school on April 1.  Shorts must be black or khaki and fingertip

length.  Just a reminder for the students that cold legs do not mean you get to stay inside!

Shorts are not acceptable wear for Mass!  Yellow tickets will be issued to offenders.

KNIGHTS OF COMUBUS WINE TASTING

The Knights of Columbus Council 8930 would like to extend an invitation to all those 21 and above to join them for a wine tasting this Saturday, April 12.  It will begin immediately following the 5:00 p.m. Mass at St. Anthony’s Chapel in the basement.  There will be wines, silent auction, snacks, dinner and a chance to win $500 cash.
