Holy Spirit Catholic School
WHY SHOULD YOU CHOOSE HSCS?
Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about our school!
Holy Spirit Catholic School is a fully-accredited K-8 school in Bannock County, Idaho. The State of Idaho Board of Education only accredits high schools and colleges/universities. The Diocese of Boise began the process mandating all Idaho Catholic schools to participate in the rigorous National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) accreditation process back in 2009. The process is rigorous and included many long hours of preparation, research, documentation, surveys, input from parents, students, shareholders, pastoral and teaching staffs, self-reflection of all curriculum areas, case studies, Catholic identity reflection, identifying strengths/weaknesses and defining future goals.
Holy Spirit Catholic School was honored in June 2018 with the highest accreditation status bestowed on an elementary school by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) - a full six year term. This premier accreditation is also acknowledged by the State of Idaho. Holy Spirit Catholic School is also acknowledged as an institutional member in good standing for elementary schools by National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and the National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES) for successful educational accomplishment.
Holy Spirit has consistently scored high in education assessments (reading, math and language arts) throughout the years in comparison with the public system in Idaho and nationally. Our standardized national assessments (MAP) follow the growth model rather than grade level ranking model. Teachers and parents can see student growth over the long term, with strengths identified and weak areas targeted for improvement
All classroom teachers maintain State of Idaho certification credentials and all school personnel have attended the Safe Environment Training as required by the Diocese of Boise.
