Holy Spirit Catholic School
The well-being of all our students, families, faculty and staff is a top priority as we navigate the current COVID-19 pandemic.
HSCS has been monitoring COVID-19 developments, and is staying in close contact with the Idaho State Department of Education, Southeastern Idaho Public Health, and the Diocese of Boise for guidance. By doing so, it allows us to proactively prepare for many different scenarios concerning COVID-19 within our school communities as well as the community at large. The health and safety of our students, families, and staff are of utmost concern.
HSCS will post updates on this page and through our parent messaging system, FastDirect.

The Idaho State Board of Education voted unanimously to extend the "soft closure" of all public schools to the end of this school year or until local and state social distancing orders have been lifted and re-entry criteria established by the state board have been met.
The soft closure prohibits instruction in school buildings, due to the coronavirus pandemic, but still allows school districts to continue remote learning.
Holy Spirit Catholic School is prepared to continue remote learning through the remainder of the school year, or until the school community has met the criteria to come together again. Once the criteria has been released, we will evaluate the school's ability to begin to have students return to campus.
We appreciate your continued support of our wonderful school. Our goal is to provide a strong Catholic education to your child, even though we must deliver it from a distance. If you are having challenges with our distance plan, please reach out.
Thank you and God bless!
Nancy Corgiat, Proud Principal

Our Idaho Catholic schools will follow this closure guidance (through at least April 20). As you know, our faculty has put together HSCS's remote plan through April 3. That plan is still in place! Be assured that teachers will continue to be in touch with their students and families. Keeping that school connection is so important!
We are still planning to distribute materials on Sunday, March 29, as we begin in earnest remote learning next week, March 30-April 3.
Deep cleaning and disinfecting of the school will be finished Friday. Access into the buildings (main school/middle school wing, preschool and kindergarten) will be reduced as much as possible with restricted entrance into non-essential classrooms/bathrooms.
Please keep our teachers and staff in your prayers, and thank you for supporting our efforts to continue learning and maintain safety during this difficult time. Take care of your families and yourselves.
Week One (March 17 – 20) will be a time to focus on preparing for remote or in home learning.
Week Two (March 23 – 27) is Spring Break – Relax and enjoy!
Week Three (March 30 – April 3) remote learning will begin.
Your child’s teacher will be email you class-specific details for Week Three remote learning and what materials will be needed.
The school will be open on March 17 from 1-5 p.m. for families to pick up anything they forgot here at school (clothing, textbooks, water bottles, boots, etc.) or to check out books from the school library.
We will be open again on Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. for families to pick up homework packets, Chromebooks for those students who need them, and library books.
If you have any concerns please contact us through FastDirect. We will be re-evaluating the need for any further closures as the time approaches for us to resume.
3/16/2020 Update: HSCS will close school and childcare beginning March 17 with a tentative return date of April 6. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
